Discover amazing ideas that strengthen our community!

You are invited to a Sharing Ideas presentation, Creating Caring Communities. This free event, sponsored by Community Legacy Program of Our United Villages, will take place on Thursday, August 8th, 6pm-8pm at New Columbia Community Education Center, 4625 N. Trenton Street Portland, Oregon 97203. Sharing Ideas events illuminate positive, grassroots efforts of neighbors, volunteer groups and organizations throughout Portland. Presenters will share the inspiration for their project, how they turned their idea into action and how the project engages community.

This Sharing Ideas presentation features two grassroots groups dedicated to creating caring communities for elders:

·    Eastside Village, PDX: A supportive community in which older adults and people with disabilities are able to live at home for as long as they choose.

·    Hayden Island Lunch Connection: A community of seniors who provide delicious and nutritious meals and activities for residents on Hayden Island.

Come celebrate and discover the many ways in which individuals and groups are making a positive difference in our community.  Make connections; explore possibilities for creating similar projects in your neighborhood.

Please RSVP online or by phone at 503.546.7499 by Monday, August 5th. Free and open to the community! Refreshments will be provided. Childcare (9 and under), transportation, and interpretation are provided upon request, within 48 hours of event.
