Things are only getting better for Oregon wine, and for Oregon wine lovers. With record sales and growing accolades from around the world, this industry’s impact on Oregon’s economy and identity continues to grow. Meanwhile, new trends are emerging to improve the sustainability and quality of winemaking.

As the industry grows and changes, few have been watching it as closely as Katherine Cole, self-described "oeno pundit", wine columnist for The Oregonian and MIX Magazine, and author of Voodoo Vintners, published by OSU Press in 2011.

In Salem on May 16, we welcome Katherine Cole to our 2013 McCall Society Speaker Series. Cole will discuss the impact of Oregon's wine economy and key trends in the industry today.

Cole is a graduate of Harvard College and the Columbia University School of Journalism, and writes wine columns for the FOODday section of the Oregonian. Click here to visit her website and learn more about her book on Oregon's biodynamic winemakers. Willamette Week called the book “an engaging and heartfelt look into Oregon’s salt-of-the-earth farmers and winemakers,” while the Oregon Wine Press praised the book as “a sensual, smart study of the Oregon wine world and the future of agriculture.”
