Sample Agenda for Stakeholder Engagement Sessions

This sample agenda can be adapted for use with focus groups, listening sessions, meetings with coalitions, and one-on-one interviews.

  • Welcome and introductions
    • Review meeting purpose
    • Hand out input form (PDF)
    • Icebreaker: What does “equity” mean to you, and how does it relate to your work?
       
  • Project overview
    • What is an equity atlas?
    • Overview of project concept including showing sample maps or examples of other regions’ equity atlases to illustrate
       
  • How can the equity atlas project best support your work?
    • Are there projects/ campaigns that you are working on that the maps could help inform? Are there other ways the project could support your work (e.g. grant writing, etc.)?
    • How can the project be framed to be of greatest value to you?
       
  • What indicators should the equity atlas include?
    • Review a starting point menu of potential indicators and explain how it was developed
    • Review the criteria that should guide the prioritization of indicators
    • Ask for input on the categories of indicators: Are these the right ones? Are any missing?
    • Discuss each category and identify the indicators that should be the highest priorities within each category
    • Ask for input on any additional indicators that aren’t on the starting point menu that should be added to the list
    • Ask participants to write down any suggestions for potential data sources for priority indicators

    • Review the ways that stakeholders can get involved and stay informed
    • Ask participants to write on the input form how they would like to be involved and stay informed
