The air we breathe is basic to our health. And while we all breathe the air, the air we breathe is not necessarily the same. Where we live has a significant impact on the quality of our air and our exposure to potentially harmful air toxics.
The Healthy Environment Map Series examines the air quality of the Portland metro region by documenting how levels of air toxics compare with regional benchmarks for clean air. The maps also explore how air quality relates to the locations of freeways and to the locations of high poverty schools across the region.
