Indicators Available in the Online Mapping Tool

CLF spent more than a year on a multi-step process to identify the indicators to include in the Regional Equity Atlas 2.0 online mapping tool.  The process included extensive research on data sources and best practices as well as a robust stakeholder engagement process that gathered input from hundreds of leaders from non-profits, government agencies, and community organizations across the four-county region.

Click here for a list of the indicators that are available to be mapped in the Regional Equity Atlas 2.0 online mapping tool. For more detailed information on any of these indicators, see the Regional Equity Atlas 2.0 Metadata.

Priority Indicators that Could Not Be Mapped

The selection of indicators for the Regional Equity Atlas 2.0 online mapping tool was a complex process because, while maps can play a powerful role in illuminating disparities, they are only able to capture some of the dimensions of regional equity. There are many important aspects of equity that are not effectively addressed through maps, either because the data is not available, not “mappable”, or because the issues are not spatial or geographic in nature.

Stakeholders across the region identified a number of indicators as priorities for the Atlas that ultimately could not be mapped. Click here for a list of these indicators. For more detailed information on any of these indicators, see the Metadata.

Metadata:  Detailed Information on the Indicators

The Regional Equity Atlas 2.0 Metadata provides detailed methodological information on every indicator in the Atlas online mapping tool. It includes a description of the data used for each indicator, the data sources and dates, the geographic extent, data classification scheme, and caveats and methodological considerations to keep in mind when using the data. The metadata also includes links to Excel spreadsheets containing the raw data for many of the indicators.
