PORTLAND AREA WORKERS' RIGHTS BOARD -PRESENTS- Securing Our Future: Rhetoric vs Responsibility at Securitas
Since April, Securitas Officers have been asking that Securitas follow the Global Agreement they signed - an agreement that recognizes the right for security officers to form a union. In these efforts, officers look to bring good jobs and more reliable security services to our community.
Please join us in support of Securitas officers as they speak out about the troubling conditions at some our region’s largest employers including Intel, Adidas and Hewlett Packard.
“I’ve been a Securitas officer for 9 years. My job is to make sure our building and parking lots are safe for customers. I can’t afford the health insurance plan on my $11 an hour so I go to work every day without insurance. I have to go to a payday loan provider once a month just to be able to buy food for my family. Please help hardworking Securitas officers receive the respect we deserve.” - Victor Smith, Securitas Officer at Home Depot in Portland
