Coalition Testimony Makes the Case for EITC Improvement

Document Actions
From Oregonians For Working Families
Coalition members and individuals who have benefited from the Earned Income Tax Credit provided compelling testimony at the March 11 hearing before the Senate Finance and Revenue Committee. The data and moving personal stories made the case for why improving the state EITC should be a top legislative priority.

Several who testified made it clear that, if the legislature can find money for expansion or extension, or creation of new tax credits or deductions, it can find money to enact SB 349. The committee thanked the diverse group testifying and thanked Senator Rosenbaum for her longtime championing of this issue.

There is a revised version of the fact sheet SB 349 Helps Working Families Get Ahead: Should be a Top Legislative Priority. Please use the revised version when speaking about the EITC bill, SB 349.
