$42 Million into the CRC Money Pit

BAD NEWS: Last week, Senator Murray (WA) added $42 million in funding for the Columbia River Crossing megabridge to the federal Senate appropriations bill.
It’s disappointing that Senator Murray included this huge earmark for the megabridge when the region has not found consensus on the right bridge to make I-5 work.
Oregon
elected leaders had little if any input on this decision.
As Congressman Blumenauer previously discussed
in the Willamette
Week, we would be better off using our political capital on things
like the
Sellwood Bridge, which have the support
of the
community.
What you can do: If you live in Washington, ask Senator Murray to reconsider and remove the earmark request for the CRC.
