This year marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day – an event which launched our nation’s modern environmental movement. As we reflect on what this movement has accomplished and where it must go next, we know that it cannot ignore the gross human inequalities we face in our communities. The 8th Annual Regional Livability Summit provides community leaders, advocates, government staff, elected officials, students, teachers and the multi-faceted Portland-Vancouver public an important opportunity to unite and advance work for healthy people and a healthy planet.
