THURSDAY, MAY 21
Equity Lobby Day in Salem
10 AM to 4 PM
Join Coalition for a Livable Future, Oregon Action and the Oregon Bus Project for a lobby day in Salem. The schedule is to depart from Portland at 10:00 AM and arrive back in Portland by 4:00 PM.
We will rally on the Capitol steps and meet with legislators to discuss:
- Health care equity
- Affordable housing preservation
- Creation of a statewide Civil Rights Division
Transportation, lunch, and lobby training provided. If registering for Lobby Day please include in your information the name of your state representative – find your legislator here.
FRIDAY, MAY 22
Garden Installation at Oleson Woods
9 AM – 12 NOON
Along with a Master Gardener, build beds for a community garden with Community Partners for Affordable Housing at Oleson Woods Apartments, a service-enriched, affordable multi-family complex. Some tools will be on hand, but extra gloves and (well marked) shovels and rakes will be helpful. Volunteers will meet at 9140 SW 91st Avenue in Tigard.
SATURDAY, MAY 23
Ivy Removal at Fanno Creek Trail Expansion
9 AM - 12 NOON
Help Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District remove English ivy from the natural areas surrounding a new trail connection to the Fanno Creek Trail just off of Allen Blvd. Please bring heavy-duty work gloves, loppers, a round-tipped shovel and a reusable water bottle, if possible. Refreshments will be provided. Volunteers will meet at the City of Beaverton field office located at 9600 SW Allen Blvd, 97005.
Rosemont Bluff Work Party
9 AM to 12 NOON
Help with restoration and maintenance at this small natural area in the heart of Northeast Portland. Meet at the sign-in table on NE 68th across from the Juvenile Justice Center (between Glisan & Halsey streets).
Tools provided, but bring a favorite if desired. Bring gloves (if possible), sturdy shoes, and water. All ages welcome, but supervision for children that need it requested. Sponsored by North Tabor Neighborhood Association.
Urban League of Portland Social Justice & Civic Leadership Training
10 AM to 2 PM
Building Social Movements: Learn about local movements and how they have shaped the Portland community. Come away with a historical understanding of social justice movements and how it relates to today.
This is the first in a series of four trainings designed to help train civic leaders in advocating for just and equitable local policies. Each session will be held on Saturdays, from 10 am to 2 pm. Although participants can register for a single session, a commitment to attend all four sessions is encouraged.
Most sessions will be held at the Urban League Multi-cultural Senior Center 5325 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (and Killngsworth). Other locations may be announced after registration.

Help support this exciting event that promotes youth empowerment as it trains young citizens on civic involvement, city services, and more.
SATURDAY, MAY 30
Planting Day at the Imaginative Children’s Garden at Gresham’s Vance Park
8:30 AM – 12 NOON
Sponsored by People for Parks and Mt. Hood Community College Rho Theta students. Bring gloves and trowel for planting both seeds and plants. Light lunch provided at noon. Children’s projects are planned, but please register to ensure enough supplies.

DigIn! at Oregon Food Bank
9 AM to 12 NOON
Help tend Oregon Food Bank’s Learning Garden in Northeast Portland, which grows organic produce for hunger-relief agencies. Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes. Children under 16 welcome with adult supervision.
