10th Annual Regional Livability Summit

The Regional Livability Summit is an annual gathering of regional leaders and community members, ranging from policy advocates and student activists to government staff and elected officials. This diverse group comes together to discuss strategic linkages between the wide range of issues involved in creating a sustainable and just future for the Portland metropolitan region.
Announcing the 2012 Keynote Speaker:
Angela Glover Blackwell founded PolicyLink in 1999 and continues to drive its mission of advancing economic and social equity. Under Blackwell’s leadership, PolicyLink has become a leading voice in the movement to use public policy to improve access and opportunity for all low-income people and communities of color, particularly in the areas of health, housing, transportation, education, and infrastructure. Past Events
2011 Regional Livability Summit. September 14, 2011. Our ninth Summit, this year focused on climate equity, including the importance of respond forcefully to the changing climate and address poverty and environmental health in climate action strategies. Our keynote speaker is Angela Park, author of Everybody's Movement and founder and executive director of Diversity Matters.

2010 Regional Livability Summit. April 17 - May 13, 2010. The 2010 Summit included a month of activities and events that engaged nearly 1,000 people! Events focused around the theme of "Building Alliances to Get Results" and our keynote speaker was Alan Jenkins of The Opportunity Agenda.
2010 LAUGH for Livability. February 20, 2010
2009 Regional Livability Summit. May 20th - 30th, 2009. The May 20th program featured a great line-up of inspiring speakers and action-oriented sessions covering the region's hottest issues. New to '09 Summit were the Days of Equity Action, a series of done-in-a-day service projects and actions. Our keynote speaker: Dr. Julian Agyeman, professor at Tufts University who has written extensively on environment and inclusion.
2008 Regional Livability Summit. On May 28th, 2008 over 300 people gathered and helped to create an agenda for true sustainability in the metro area – one that harnesses our desire for positive change, recognizes our interconnectedness, aspires toward equality and inclusion, and lives up to the promise of our people and our place. Our keynote speaker was Maya Wiley, founder and executive director at the Center for Social Inclusion.
